We are seeking a Senior Compliance Strategist to lead the effort to interpret our Austin, Texas client's new legal reporting requirements, assess their current environment, and define a comprehensive compliance strategy. This is a hybrid contract role (you must currently live in Texas) and requires skills and experience in eDiscovery, Microsoft Purview, information governance, data and reporting compliance, and business/technical analysis.
Responsibilities include:
* Analyze the new law and translate it into business and technical requirements.
* Assess current tools, workflows, policies, and the data governance landscape.
* Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders including legal, IT, and compliance teams.
* Develop a compliance strategy, design and workflow documents and high-level implementation roadmap.
* Identify potential gaps in current use of Microsoft Purview and recommend enhancements.
* Work closely with IT and business departments to align priorities.
* Draft or contribute to documentation and presentations to leadership.
* Provide recommendations on staffing, resources, and technology configurations.
Qualifications:
* 8 years in business analysis, compliance, or data governance.
* Strong experience with Microsoft Purview, particularly eDiscovery and data classification.
* Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance and reporting frameworks
* Demonstrated ability to define strategic plans in complex environments.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Preferred: Prior experience with government or public sector environments.
